Daniel Johnson Duo
Daniel Johnson has come a long way from picking up his first guitar as a freshman at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. The Thomson, GA native began performing in college bars and house parties with the newly formed Daniel Johnson Band in 2011. After graduation, DJB would go on to record their debut EP album “Dry County Nights” in Atlanta, GA. That year, Daniel would also be recognized as the runner up for Male Vocalist of Year at the 2012 Georgia-Country Music Awards.
After touring for two years, in 2014 Daniel released his solo EP album “How Bout Tonight”. Making the switch from southern rock to modern country presented new opportunities, including opening up for major label artists across the southeast. These artists ranged from Darius Rucker, Randy Houser, Lee Brice, Cole Swindell, Craig Morgan, to Chase Rice, David Nail, Colt Ford, and the Swon Brothers.
In 2015, Daniel released “Lake Life” and “Roads I Used to Run”, showcasing his new direction after recording with Grammy Award winning producer Jamie Tate at the legendary Rukkus Room Studios in Nashville, TN. Daniel is currently embarking on a new chapter in his life by making his home in Nashville. Living in the epicenter of country music allows him to write with an array of experienced singers and songwriters, and to connect with fans across the nation.
